Description
A bold bald eagle with outstretched wings dominates the center of the flag, its feathers patterned with the stars and stripes of the American flag. Behind the eagle, the left side shows the U.S. flag's blue field with white stars and red and white stripes, while the right side is solid dark blue. Below the eagle is the circular United States Coast Guard seal, featuring a light blue background, a gold rope border, two crossed cannons, an anchor, and the text "UNITED STATES COAST GUARD" and "1790" around the edge. To the right of the seal is a blue and red Coast Guard chief petty officer rank insignia. Below the insignia are the years "1965-1971" in yellow, and beneath that, the words a personalized name in large yellow capital letters. The design uses a patriotic color palette of red, white, blue, and gold.
