Description
A bold bald eagle with outstretched wings dominates the center of the flag, set against a background of red and white stripes and a blue field with white stars. At the top, "THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD" is printed in white capital letters on a dark blue banner. The U.S. Coast Guard seal, a circular emblem with a shield, eagle, and anchor, is positioned above the eagle's head. Two blue chevron-shaped insignia with white eagles and anchors are on either side of the eagle, each containing placeholder text a personalized name and "1968 - 1974". Below the eagle, a dark blue banner reads "HONOR - RESPECT - DEVOTION TO DUTY" in white capital letters. The flag is displayed on a pole with the Statue of Liberty visible in the background to the left. The design uses a patriotic color palette of red, white, blue, gold, and brown.
